2011: Through the looking glass

Toward 2011:

  1. Will the prices of chocolate and coffee increase as Cote d’Ivoire, the world’s top producer of cocoa maybe entering into a civil war? What about prices for wheat products? After all, 25% of Russia's wheat harvest maybe lost due to drought and a million tonnes more lost in Pakistan's flood.
  2. What does this tell us? As climate change affects the world around us, the stability of our food supplies maybe affected.
  3. Further to this, another point to ponder on is the rare earth material. Why on earth would countries around the world allow China to have such a huge leverage of 97% control of the world's production? Does this mean that the costs of our electronics expected to increase in the next few years?

On the local front, will there be more interesting news via the wikileaks? After all, there some "leak" on our PM. Will there be more? What about the French investigation into the submarine's corruption? And the case of Hot Money? Are Malaysian matured enough to realize that our current rally in the stock market being pushed up by these FDIs?

2011 will indeed be an interesting year to look forward to.

*not forgetting the rumors of iPad 2 coming in February.

Happy Malaysia Day

I have a dream that one day ALL Malaysians speak and write ALL major languages.
I have a dream that one day ALL Malaysians are treated EQUALLY.
I have a dream today!
I have a dream that one day ALL Malaysians will be tolerance of ALL religions.
I have a dream that one day ALL Malaysians will reject ALL forms of corruptions.
I have a dream today!

This is our hope. This is our dream.

An open letter to men… [do you agree?]

Christina Hendricks wrote a interesting article about men which I find enlightening. Here’s a snippet of it.

Marriage changes very little. The only things that will get a married man laid that won’t get a single man laid are adultery and whores. Intelligence and humor (and your smell) are what get you laid. That’s what got you laid when you were single. That’s what gets you laid when you’re married. Everything still works in marriage: especially intelligence and humor. Because the sexiest thing is to know you.

Why?

“I want to be known for being honest in my pursuit of a good life.” - Penelope Trunk

Because I would like to live an honest live too. I realized that I've been living in a world of delusion and false expectation. With the submission of the final draft for my thesis, I vowed to start my blog anew. My previous blog is here. This will be the first entry toward a new beginning.

... Hello World! I am back.
