2011: Through the looking glass

Toward 2011:

  1. Will the prices of chocolate and coffee increase as Cote d’Ivoire, the world’s top producer of cocoa maybe entering into a civil war? What about prices for wheat products? After all, 25% of Russia's wheat harvest maybe lost due to drought and a million tonnes more lost in Pakistan's flood.
  2. What does this tell us? As climate change affects the world around us, the stability of our food supplies maybe affected.
  3. Further to this, another point to ponder on is the rare earth material. Why on earth would countries around the world allow China to have such a huge leverage of 97% control of the world's production? Does this mean that the costs of our electronics expected to increase in the next few years?

On the local front, will there be more interesting news via the wikileaks? After all, there some "leak" on our PM. Will there be more? What about the French investigation into the submarine's corruption? And the case of Hot Money? Are Malaysian matured enough to realize that our current rally in the stock market being pushed up by these FDIs?

2011 will indeed be an interesting year to look forward to.

*not forgetting the rumors of iPad 2 coming in February.
